The universe of The Witcher continues to expand under the direction of Netflix. Following the departure of Henry Cavill, the streaming service is moving forward with the fourth installment of the main series, now featuring Liam Hemsworth from The Hunger Games as Geralt of Rivia. However, that is not all; next month, Netflix will also release The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, a new animated film that will explore the short story A Little Sacrifice by Andrzej Sapkowski. In anticipation of the release, an exciting extended preview has been shared, showcasing the battle against sea monsters.

In this new production, Doug Cockle has been cast to voice the titular sorcerer, reprising his role from the video games. The video reveals the upcoming adventure where Geralt will confront creatures that have been rivaling a coastal village for centuries. The preview also features animated versions of familiar characters from the live-action series, including Jaskier and Yennefer of Vengerberg.

The synopsis states, “Geralt of Rivia, a mutated hunter, is hired to investigate attacks on the coast and finds himself embroiled in a centuries-old conflict between humans and tritons. He must rely on friends, both old and new, to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two realms escalate into total war.” The film is directed by Kang Hei Chul, who was behind The Wolf’s Nightmare (2021), based on a script written by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin. The release is scheduled for February 11.
