A 42-year-old woman was arrested by the DDI San Isidro and SubDDI Pilar of the Buenos Aires Provincial Police, accused of entering a nursing home to steal money in dollars. Security camera footage showing the suspect inside the elderly care facility was crucial in achieving the arrest. Judicial sources informed Infobae that the robbery occurred on December 28 at the Padre Braschi nursing home, located on Tucumán street in the Buenos Aires town of Pilar. During a routine inspection, the director, Sister Sor Irela Patricia Morales, noticed that the lock on the front door was broken. Upon checking the interior of the facility, the nun confirmed that cash in dollars was missing from the director’s office, as well as from her own room. According to local media reports, the thief allegedly took thousands of dollars that had come from various donations. However, the exact amount of the stolen money was not detailed by sources consulted by this outlet.

Immediately, the director filed a report, and the investigation was assigned to UFI No. 1. Based on the information provided by Morales, detectives began their investigation. They took witness statements and analyzed recordings from the area, which allowed them to identify the suspect, who was not affiliated with the institution, as she entered the establishment and fled with the stolen items towards Moreno, as shown in the footage where she is seen leaving quickly with a bag in hand. In another clip, she is observed crossing the back area under the watchful eye of the nun, who appears to say something to the religious figure.

All the information obtained by the detectives led Juzgado de Garantías No. 7 to approve a request for urgent searches at the residences frequented by the suspect. After implementing several surveillance posts in the vicinity of the suspect’s homes, located on Diego Almagro street, between España and Avenida Del Libertador, she was finally apprehended. Additionally, it was determined that she was linked to a theft that occurred on the 26th at the tire shop Tito Neumáticos on Laprida street in José C. Paz. This case is under the jurisdiction of Malvinas Argentinas, which belongs to the Martín Judicial Department. The nursing home has opened a case for the crime of robbery.
